Operational Doctrine

How We Operate

ION is a UK-based private military company, founded on the principles of professionalism, discipline, and decisive force projection. Our doctrine is rooted in British and broader Western military standards, refined through years of operational experience across hostile theaters. From patrol contact drills to mission planning, our teams follow proven NATO-aligned tactics but never at the cost of adaptability.

Where doctrine ends, pragmatism begins. Whether it’s ex-Soviet hardware, surplus tech, or regionally acquired gear, if it works, we’ll use it. Our operations often require unconventional solutions, and we are equipped to execute with tools drawn from NATO arsenals, Warsaw Pact legacies, or anything in between.

We don’t care where it came from. If it fires, flies, or functions, we’ll use it to get the job done.

Core Principles

I. Mission Before Method

We do what works. Our teams are trained to operate with a wide range of platforms and tactics, tailoring every approach to the environment, threat, and political constraints. Whether the mission calls for Western airframes or Eastern firepower, we will adapt without hesitation.

II. Western Military Doctrine

  • Tactical leadership based on British and NATO structure
  • Emphasis on fire discipline, mission-focused planning, and unit cohesion
  • Standard operating procedures follow clean, repeatable frameworks (e.g. INTSUM, PRESAR, ROE layering)

III. Unrestricted Arsenal

  • Access to weapons and equipment across all blocs
  • Ability to operate Warsaw Pact systems, surplus armaments, and black-market tech as required
  • Emphasis on familiarity, not favoritism form follows function

IV. Decentralized Execution

  • Field sections operate with command autonomy under clear intent
  • Doctrine prioritizes initiative, speed, and controlled aggression
  • Minimalize over-planning. Promote readiness, clarity, and response agility

Modular Loadout Control

Operators are trained to adapt to battlefield availability:

  • British, US, and Western platforms remain baseline
  • Russian, Chinese, or irregular systems used when logistics or deniability demand it
  • Loadouts adjust per mission, terrain, and threat profile
